Getting a Good Start
What’s just as important as the LSAT? Actually, many things are equally important.
Your ideal scenario is going to a good law school, getting good grades, joining the law review, getting an internship your first summer and finally, getting a good job. Instead, even If you attend the best law school in the country, if you get only mediocre grades and do no extracurricular activities, you’re likely to graduate with poor or no job prospects in our current challenging economy.
The field of law isn’t what it once was, where you could just walk into a job, and the better your law school the better the job. Employers are much more selective than they used to be, and they prize things like writing for student publications and getting good recommendations from internships. Better still, many internships turn into jobs.
The one outcome that you want to avoid at all costs is failing out of law school after you've begun, leaving you worse off than before, both academically and financially.
